Below is a video that will walk you through what to expect the day of your visit.
Meet at the Central Pacific Passenger Station at the corner of Front and J Streets in Old Sacramento. Click here for a google maps link.
If you need assistance finding the Passenger Station, feel free to check in with staff at the Museum lobby.
- Westward Bound participants will be supplied with tickets for a train on the same day. See below for details for your Block.
- Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to the departure time.
- These historic rail cars are not accessible and cannot accommodate wheelchairs. All passengers must be able to climb a narrow set of stairs to board. Please contact 916-445-5995 for questions about accessibility on the train.
- If you cannot make your reservation, please contact the CSRM Group Desk as soon as possible ([email protected] or (916) 323-9274) so the slot can be opened to another group.
If your expected passenger count changes:
Please email the Group Desk at [email protected] as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee tickets for students, chaperones, or teachers not accounted for ahead of time.

A Block Groups:
- Your program begins at 10am at the Passenger Station, followed by a short bathroom break.
- You will receive tickets for the 11:30am train.
B Block Groups:
- You will receive tickets for the 10am train, we recommend arriving at the Passenger Station by 9:30am.
- After a short bathroom break, your program begins at 11:30am at the Passenger Station.
