SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The California State Railroad Museum exhibit “Painting A Legacy: The Search for Anna Judah” that opened May 12, 2023, will be closing March 27, 2025. It will be the last time for the community to see Anna Judah’s original paintings on display at the California State Railroad Museum.
Located in the Sierra Scene in the Transcontinental Railroad Gallery, the compelling exhibit showcases four paintings by Anna Judah, enlargements of her flower pressings, plus photographs and images from Anna’s life. The oil and watercolor paintings of the Sierra Nevada mountains were created in the mid-1800s when Anna accompanied her husband Theodore D. Judah as he surveyed for the Transcontinental Railroad.
The “Painting A Legacy: The Search for Anna Judah” exhibit will be on display until March 27, 2025. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., regular admission to the California State Railroad Museum is $12 for adults, $6 for youth (ages 6 to 17), and are free for children five and under.
