Trains & Tripods Photo Opportunity & Lighting Seminar

Lights, Camera, Action!

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Lights, camera, action! California State Parks and the California State Railroad Museum & Foundation are proud to offer a two-part Trains & Tripods Photo Opportunity & Lighting Seminar for photographers on Friday evening, October 20 and Saturday morning, October 21, 2017.

In partnership with Mike’s Camera, the unique program starts with an optional, fast-paced and information-packed seminar about existing light photography on Friday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. that will be conducted by former Sacramento Bee photographer and Canon USA Digital Learning Center Instructor Dave Henry. Then on Saturday morning, a photographers-only “bring your own tripod” photo workshop will take place inside the visually-enticing museum from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (before it opens to the public for the day). Photographers of all skill levels can choose to attend one or both of the activities.

To participate in the Trains & Tripods activities, the cost is $35 per person for the Friday evening seminar, $35 per person for the shooting workshop or $60 per person for both. Space is limited to 50 participants and advance registration for Trains & Tripods is required. All photographers are required to sign a release of liability and a “not for commercial use” clause. To register online, interested photographers can visit https://www.californiarailroad.museum/events/trains-and-tripods. For general questions about the Railroad Museum, please call 916-323-9280.
