All aboard! Join for a round trip ride along the scenic Sacramento River, as you experience railroading first hand as it was in the early part of the 20th century. Pulled by one of our historic steam or diesel locomotives, this ride is the perfect hands-on compliment to visiting the museum.
This FREE, 45-minute excursion train trip is available for all K-12 school groups. Reservations are required.
Due to limited capacity, we can only book a small number of school groups per day. Please book in advance.
School trains are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 5 through May 16, 2024.
Once you have booked your field trip, you will receive a link to reserve the free excursion train ride.
A train ride may be added to any in-person school field trip on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The train ride must be booked for the same day as the in-person field trip.
Due to limited availability, not all schools will be able to take a train ride.
The Westward Bound program already includes a train ride. Additional reservations for those groups are not required.
