Gold Rush Days

Sep 02, 2016 - Sep 05, 2016

Step back in time to the 1850s for Gold Rush Days!

Get ready to turn back time to the 1850s when Gold Rush Days (& Nights!) return to Old Sacramento over the extended Labor Day Weekend -- Friday, September 2 through Monday, September 5, 2016. The annual heritage celebration begins with an Education Day on Friday (that is primarily for school groups) then kicks into high gear for the general public with a wide variety of free family-friendly activities that take place throughout the historic district to help visitors experience what life was like in the 1850s. And, in addition to the ever-popular and official daytime activities, the fun extends into the evening hours each night with something special including a Friday night Gold Rush Beer Crawl, a Saturday night Country Western Dance -- with headliner Buck Ford -- and a Sunday evening outdoor movie showing of True Grit (2010 version).

This unique Sacramento heritage event features lively entertainment for Old Sacramento guests to experience and enjoy. While some special activities and offerings are ticketed (prices vary), an impressive line-up of free, live entertainment will be available on the streets and various stages throughout Old Sacramento, including:
