Gold Spike Lecture Series - Ghosts of Gold Mountain

The recovery and interpretation of the experiences of Chinese railroad workers in North America, Thursday, August 22nd, 2019, 7 P.M.

Award-winning scholar Gordon H. Chang draws on unprecedented research to recover the history of the Chinese workers who built the Transcontinental Railroad, helping to forge modern America only to disappear into the shadows of history until now.

Tickets for the event are $14 for General Admission and $7 for members of the Sacramento History Museum, California State Railroad Museum or the Crocker Art Museum. The lecture will be held at the California State Railroad Museum and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchase by calling 916-808-7059 or online.

Scholar Gordon H. Chang is the Olive H. Palmer Professor in the Humanities, a professor of American History at Stanford University, and the author of Ghosts of Gold Mountain: The Epic Story of the Chinese Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad.
